I've been grinding through WoW for over a year now, working my main all the way up to 70 during that time, without the help of any raids or dungeons and only doing BGs starting at lvl 60.  So I use the term 'grind' in the most literal sense.  While lvling up to the current cap I've found my way in and out of a few guilds some of which have been a pretty serious and likable environment and others, well.  You know how some guilds can get.  Sometimes a /catfight emote would be appropriate for the chats, ya know?

My most recent guild's leadership and senior memebers had a major falling out to the point of nearly a 50/50 split.  Half left the guild and reformed under a new tabard, half remained in the old guild.  Me?  I just split completely and went solo and told myself "No more guilds until I hit 70."  I got tired of the drama, the fighting and most certainly the disagreements in "where the guild was heading".  Specifically, the GM was hardcore about ganking lowbie Ally towns and that being the way to more advanced raiding.  Yeah, I don't get that either.  So that was one of the driving forces behind the split.

Prior to that I was in a pretty serious and stable guild for a long time (35-50ish) and was working my way up the leadership ranks when the second in command had a major falling out with the GM and decided to split the guild.  Me, I was closer to the 2nd in command so one evening after defending UC from incoming Alliance raids, he and a few other higherups from the current guild decided to split and form our own and thus we were the founding officers of the new guild.  Long story short, I left that guild because many of the players I was friends with just stopped playing for a long while.  They were never on and after a few months of that, I left and you know what happened next.  They came back a short while after.  *le sigh*.

A few ridiculous guilds whose members seemed to specialize in off-color immature insults of the opposing faction later, I went solo at 60 and never looked back.  I must have turned down over two dozen invites to various guilds since then.  I even mailed the GM of the guild I helped start after questing with one my old friends/officers from it a while back asking if I he would invite me back.  Never heard back from him.  *le sigh x2*

Last night, another GM pst'd me and asked me to join his guild and after a few lines, I asked if it's a laidback and social type guild.  His response was "most of the time, when there are fights, I break them up".  I told him I'd think about it.....

After all my guild experiences, I've found that I'm afraid to join a new one.  Is that silly of me?  I miss the comraderie and chatting to people constantly.  I also was fond of goofing off in gchat...there was always something goofy being talked about.  I don't mind being serious from time to time, but I really enjoy just being social and silly...even while raiding and running instances.

Maybe someday I'll find the right guild for me......

The Drop

1936335-1426975-thumbnail.jpgWell Tuesday came and went without any major news to report as far as patch 2.4.  A lot of hype was flying around when the realms went down for their scheduled maitenance this week but as we were soon to find out, 2.4 wasn't going to drop this week.  Speculation has it that next Tuesday will be the big day for the latest content patch in WoW.  The PTRs have been swarming with testers wanting to catch a glimpse of the Sunwell and it's been getting very good reports.

For me, I'm not so sure how cool it will be.  I mean, I've yet to do any real serious raiding or dungeons.  Mostly I'm still PvEing (to make back the gold I spent on a flying mount!) and BGing.  I love the battlegrounds as frustrating as they are.  Sure I'm usually the leader in deaths, but every now and then I get a few crits in on an unsuspecting Ally and take 'em down.  Makes it all worth it for me.  Anyway, maybe this patch will actually get me into dungeons.  Who knows.  Either way, I'm kinda anxious to check out the new territory, Sunwell Isle.

The new "Cat" has lvled it's mood from Rebellious to Unruly.  Which is a good thing.  I'll have him up to "Best Friend" in no time!

I haven't had as much time to play WoW lately and I miss it.  I hope to maybe get a little time in on it this weekend...especially because I think it's Eye of the Storm holiday weekend!  I'm gonna try to rack up as much HP as I can!

Alterac Valley!

1936335-1416699-thumbnail.jpgNo way.  It's not possible.  Is it?  It's Alterac Valley holiday weekend in WoW and as fate would have it, the PvP reward items I want the most require not only a high amount of honor points but a large number of medals from the AV battleground.  Problem is, I have absolutely no idea how to play AV.  Lol.  It always seems as if when the battle begins everyone runs from one end to the other and just starts killing people.  At some point the Alliance attacks our strongholds and captures them and brings down our reinforcement numbers and then we capture some Ally strongholds and do the same.  I haven't been able to identify any strategy or plan of action.  It's as if it's a free-for-all running from one end of the game to the other and hope their reinforcements dwindle down faster than our own.

Couple that with someone who does not yet have very good PvP gear and an unruly pet he just trained and you get a miserable experience of a battleground.  Ugh.  Well, I suppose doing BGs isn't easy at first and just like playing PvE you have to grind your way up until you get better gear and experience and are able to handle yourself but it's just so annoying.  I keep getting owned in just about every BG, even if the Horde wins.  Meh.

Well at least I'm getting bonus honor for playing even if I don't win.  And yeah, I only get one medal at a time but I figure eventually they'll accumulate.  Lol.  Maybe this time next year I'll finally get that Gladiator's Heavy Crossbow.

A New Pet!

Cat
Anyone who plays a hunter knows one of the most awesome talents you learn is "Tame Beast".  This lets you tame a large variety of in game animals to become your pet who can then assist you in attack, defense or in making you look super cool if you manage to tame one of the rarer pets out there.  Haha.

For me, I've been running with the same pet for much of my lvl 50+ career.  A Frostsaber Stalker, complete with innate Prowl Rank 3 talent, Mehehe  (Comes in handy in BGs with Aspect of the Beast), affectionately named Frosty (after my first dog)  Anyway, I decided it's time to seriously tame and train another pet.  I've handled an assortment of pets but haven't really kept one and devoted the time to train it since I tamed ol' Frosty.

So last week while question around outland on my newly acquired flying mount, I came across the Blackwind Sabercat and zoomed back to a stable to give Frosty a rest and went back and tamed me one.  I've seen other toons running around with these black coated cats with white stripes and never knew where they found them.  Of course I never asked anyone either but as luck would have it I found them on my own and got me one.

I haven't decided on a name yet, so currently he's running with the name "Cat".  Haha. So let's create a "Name the Cat!" contest.  Any ideas?   Post them in a comment section!
